Kobine Festival
The people of Lawra in the Upper West region used this year’s Kobine festival to focus on women as key drivers of agriculture. Source: GNA - The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts is to make the Homogeneous Festival dubbed: “Homofest”, one of the flagship events for the celebration of culture and exhibition of creative talents in the country.
Source: GNA - The La community has been adjudged the winner of the Homogeneous Festival Food Competition held in Accra.
The Competition, which involved 12 communities from the Ga-Dangbe was to showcase the different type of foods prepared by the people. Source: GNA - The Second edition of the Homogeneous Festival dubbed: "Homofest 2015,” has commenced with a float through the principal streets of Accra.
The float, led by Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts had Dr Alfred Okoe Vanderpuiye, Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive in attendance. The week-long Oguaa Fetu Afahye festival is celebrated, every year in the first week of September, in the Central region of Ghana.
It is also a celebration to the contribution of Asafo companies in the 18th and 19th centuries which culminated in the nation ‘s independence. |
